This carefully prepared instrument sounds as pretty as it looks!
Lacey loves the hands on projects she gets to do in homeschooling.
As I mentioned we decided to Homeschool Lacey for the second semester of 3rd grade. We signed her up for public homeschool AZVA(AZ virtual academy). The day we got a large shipment of boxes containing books, music, art supplies, manipulative's, science equipment and even a musical instrument we knew this was going to be great. Lacey was thrilled! We set up her learning area and created a schedule. The Curriculum was amazing and quite advanced so we had some catching up to do. I have to say it took a lot more time to be a learning coach than I expected and found I was studying right along with her. It was a big sacrifice for me to give so much more time to teaching but it had great benefits too.
Like this super fun Math activity! She was always working on really amazing hands on activities.
It was so pretty I had to take pictures.
I had a lot of people ask me "why" I was homeschooling. I have to say the main reason is it was what I felt I should do. After a long debate with myself and a few alternative measures Troy & I felt strongly that Lacey simply needed more time at home. I was scared and was hesitant to do something out of the norm. but it really paid off. Lacey grew a lot this last semester she improved in order and responsibility and learned tons about writing and composition, math, music, science, history & got read 4 novels! But more than anything she was soooo happy and cheerful and singing and loving again. Her life was much more balanced.(mine wasn't! the things we'll do for our kids) We new it would only be short term and wanted to reach some specific goals for Lacey. Overall It has been a good experience for both of us and totally worth it. She is enrolling at snowflake intermediate for 4th grade. I will miss having her around and I will miss the curriculum. She is looking forward to seeing her friends everyday.
Homeschooling is a big job but we did it!
I'm so grateful for Troy's encouragement and for inspiration in answer to prayers.
Who knows maybe we will do it again someday.
