Randall Reunion Rodeo! YEEHAW!

This year we spent Easter weekend in Mesa, AZ at our Huge RANDALL REUNION. We had a great time mingling with family and enjoying our heritage...horses, steers, cows, cowboys, cow pies, and getting dirty with good clean fun!   RODEO!

Dad was so glad to be back on a horse again.
Lookin good DAD.

Dad and Uncle Bert

Waiting for the Rodeo to begin!

Papa and Lacey were in the first event the RESCUE RACE: papa races to end of arena grabs up Lacey and races back....the idea is to be the fastest!

hang on SIS!

They came in second place! What the pictures didn't show is that papa's stirrup broke at the last second and they both fell off Lacey and then papa right on her....youch!
Lacey was a little scared to get back on the horse but a little later on she did it!
Good Job Lacey the first rule of being a cowgirl is if you fall off get back on.

My cousin Shane as the rodeo clown. He hasn't changed a bit.
We could always count on the Stapley boys to be the entertainment and the most fun!

The original Randall kids and their spouses.

Nana and Papa

Kasen found a pony just his size.

My favorite event to watch....steer dressing!
I remember doing this event with my dad back in the day.
Troy, Dave & Dallan took 1st PLACE!

Poor steer....catching his breath
WAY TO GO GUYS!

The loved chick chase! Jaxon and Kasen and Canyon prepare to race.

Kasen is so fast and grabbed the little chick right up and held on tight.

Rustin snatched up this guy in the Rooster Chase so fast I couldn't even catch it on camera.

He definitely had the advantage in this race. He's had to chase down pigs, chickens, rabbits, & cats at our house lots.

Chelsey enjoyed visiting and watching the events.

Troy racing Jaxon to the finish line.

Dallan and Kasen ran the 3 legged race together.

Papa has fostered a love for the native people of Arizona and was thrilled to take some local onlookers for a ride.

And then his grandkids too.

Do you think Elyza likes the ride or just hugging papa?

Nattie in her element. She was so happy.

Ready or NOT. Brenda (very experienced) & Natalie and I (?) in the CALF DRESSING EVENT!

O.K. that was such a rush. I could have done 10 more times. So Fun!
Taking the animal down! What a team! What a release! This could be great therapy.

FOOT RACES!

Rustin and Kasen
Kasen ran along on the edge in every race I think.
He thinks he's quite a speedster!

Rustin took 1st place.....YES!
He's been waiting for this moment for a while now...he just didn't know it.

Family PICTURES! Our Richard Randall Gang!
Can you guess who I thought had the best grin.....CANYON BuDDy LEE!
What a CHEEZ!

Love you all
LETS DO IT AGAIN SOON!

Easter Eggs & Bunny Cake

Easter Traditions:
A lovely center piece for the table. Flowers, or bunnys or this year a basket filled with our naturaly colored eggs straight from the coop. We decided to incubate some eggs and hatch our own chicks so we have been letting the eggs sit out.
This inspired our easter basket idea, cute.

Every year I make some kind of easter cake. I was crunched for time this year so instead of a layer cake I decided to honor Janice Merrill's Tradition of the BUNNY CAKE. It is lacking its traditional coconut fur because I was out. So in less than 5 minutes we had this yellow bunny cake finished before Troy walked in the door from work.
Don't look too close....but 5 Minutes is my new record, not bad, I thought.
After our traditional ham dinner we served cake and ate it all!

Nat's Birthday Cake...playing with sugar

NATALIE's Birthday CAKE
It has been a long time since I have made a cake. Last week I pulled out the mixer and started mixing up fondant and the kids came running. For some reason when they see me pulling out bags of sugar and colored paints, sprinkles etc. they can't help but want to be a part of it. So we all spent an hour or so in the kitchen together and made sugar creations.

Lacey's mini cake soooooo cute!

Kasens SNAKE cake....yikes!

Jaxon's Oooey Gooey cake.....mmmmmmm tempting.

Snowflake TRACK

The kids and I got to see Rustin's track meet. He was in the very last event the mile run.
Boy was that a long wait. But the kids entertained themselves by having their own races up and down the sidewalk.

Lacey, Kasen, Jaxon and Canyon were so thrilled to see Rustin run. They yelled and cheered as loud as they could. They all think Rustin is super amazing!
He came in 6th place. He didn't think he did very well but with such a loyal fan club he was cheered up in no time. Rustin loves to run in track and is trying to beat his best records.
Keep it up Rust your doing great!

Our own Little Track & Field hour

On Saturday after lunch we went over to school track. Mom & Dad's yard practically connects to the St. David football field it makes a great extension of their back yard and provides lots of fun activities. Rustin is in Track so we went to see what he could do.
Of course everyone wanted to do it all too.

Kasen- speedster!

Jaxon's Jump ( no he didn't tip over)

I'm totally awesome.

Lacey's Landing

Rustin's approach

and he fliiiiiies!

Mom having fun with reflective light- what good little models
bet you can't guess who didn't like this idea at all.
(Canyon is not missing on purpose...just napping again)

This is how my kids look on vacation....hair not combed,
teeth not brushed, dirty feet, and tired out from all the playing.
Its all part of the fun!
