Valentine's Day dinner

So this year I decided at the last minute to treat my family to a special dinner made with a little extra love. Their favorite food is "Chinese". So I googled some recipes and tried to create it for them.
Lacey set the table and used her real Chinese tea set and bowls ...complete with chopsticks!
The kids stuck with me for the next 3 hours while I prepared the meal.
(not sure if this was actually helpful but it was definitely togetherness! )
"feeling the love"
Our goal was to have everything ready for when Troy came home from work.
Wor Wong Tong Soup: my favorite thing to order at the restaurant!
A huge disappointment tasted nothing like it. The kids loved it though.
They helped chop all the vegetables
(Their always so positive for my sake)

Chicken Egg Rolls!
A true labor of love: while frying these babies a got splattered and suffered the next 6 hours with severe burns on my hand and wrist. Rustin kept bringing me aloe vera  so I could finish making dinner.
As you can see some are burned...So Ridiculous!

Teriaky Chicken & Pork Stir fry over Steamed Rice
It was O.K.- but looked great with all the color

Asian style salad with ginger dressing......yumm my favorite part!

I know it seems silly to have these pictures of our meal. I worked so hard though and if you've ever had a grease burn you know it really huuuuuuurts! I just had to make a record of my efforts.

Troy was late and I was exhausted and in pain. We did enjoy a nice family dinner together and the kids thought it was very special....everyone felt loved! (phew.....mission accomplished)
