Lacey's new Best Friend
"Rocky Creek Special"
is her name.
We are horse sitting for Uncle Tracy again. Only this time Lacey made friends with "special" right off. Troy told her if you blow in a horses nose it becomes your friend forever. She ran right out to give it a try and now I am always catching them together.
She doesn't have a sister but for a while anyway she gets to have a horse. She whispers all her worries and secrets to "Special" and always comes in feeling happy.
Its a win for the both of us.
The next day after church I found Lacey out brushing "Special" again wearing my cowboy hat.
What a silly girl.
Two days later I caught this sight from the kitchen window and grabbed my camera to record it.
I think I know where all the carrots are going.
Life in the pasture is a bit of heaven right now for Lacey. Uncle Tracy is going to have one spoiled horse to take home.
I'm so thankful for the opportunity. It's just what we/she needed.
Whats up Doc?
Between Games on Saturday we harvested carrots.
We had tons! Rustin is holding the largest one it won 1st prize!
They were so sweet and crunchy we are eating carrots every day.
Tis the Season of SOCCER!
Here are some pics of the kids first games.
A practice and just" kickin it" at the field.
Rustin
Grandpa told Kasen to make faces at the other team.
He did
Kasens right in the middle kicking the ball
Lacey
Rustin- 4H at the Fair
Rustin felt very prepared for the fair this year and was excited to participate in the big event.
He was presented with a shiny belt buckle from the Malapai 4-h club and wore it with pride.
Sunshine! Rustins pig
Every hour he was over there washing and scrubbing.
He sold Sunshine at the auction!
Good job Rustin, you did so well this year.
Building the Church!
Uncle Tracy came over and Played blocks with Jaxon. They built this amazing church.
Jaxon was sooooooo pleased with it.
He spent a long time perfecting it.
Canyon tried to help too.
Jaxon was patient.
Canyon 2 Years old!
Canyon is 2 now. I guess this means he is actually not a BABY anymore. I think I'll pretend ignorance to this fact and call him "our baby" anyway.
Alright its true I still tell them all they are my babies.
And no I will never grow out of it.
So we celebrated with Canyon on Sunday! I found these adorable plates at Target and so we planned the cupcakes to match. Silly I know, but fun.
Lacey made this nice Birthday Crown and I made Pizza.
He loved them both.
Birthday Wish
These were supersized cupcakes. He ate off all the candy and then the frosting and left the rest.
SWEET TOOTH!
Aunt Nat gave him a Ball and glove. He has played with it often and really thinks he's big stuff now.
We gave him cars and Tracks! Jaxon showed him how to build and play with it.
His most favorite toy was his Quad....of course.
Now he has his own set of wheels to get around. The Rocky dirt road hasn't kept him from getting everywhere with it.
Brenna brought him his yummy Gigantic jar of Cheeseballs!
Cheeseballs for the cheeseball I'm sure is what she was thinking.
Canyon, you are 2 we can't believe you are growing so fast. You have such a fun happy personality. We love you,
Mom & Dad
Garden Goodies!
O.k. so today I had so much fun harvesting colorful veggies out of my garden!
Above are a few of my favorite tomatoes which a I'm so proud of
I had to arrange and mist them for the record.
Aren't they cute!
The kids love to pic them them I wash them all and we create some kind of dinner out of it all.
Tonight's Menu: Chicken Fajitas!- The most beautiful tasty fajitas ever.
All of these colorful peppers...yes out of the garden!
It was so fun to cut them all up in nice rows, this makes preparing dinner so much more enjoyable.
Rustin really wanted to tenderize and cut up the chicken. He pounded away for quite a while. (what a release for all his built up JH stress) Then he cut away on his side while I chopped away on my side. Visiting and joking with Rustin was the best part of the whole process!
Together we made all the mouths happy.
