Summer Fever!& LISTS

Summer Fever, I have it, my kids have it, my students have it...its contagious! Less than 2 weeks left of school. I love being at the end of anything and looking back to see the process and the progress. I love being at the end of something and knowing a new beginning is around the corner. I can't help but be excited that my life will get to have a new rhythm for a while preferably less repetitive and more dynamic! I'm sure I'll still be busy, I love being busy, anyone who knows me knows I love "doing". I can't sit still unless I'm reading, watching a movie, or driving somewhere.
Summer brings, no school, no homework, no carpools and longer days, which means more time!(Does anyone else think our summers are to short? When I was a kid they seemed like a lifetime, now its what 9/10 weeks....a measly quarter..jipped)

However short it a may be, it is More time to fill up doing all things I usually don't get enough of like:

Reading books instead of articles
Swimming
Playing music
Playing outside all day
Face painting, creating cakes, beading, sewing, drawing, cooking, decorating
B-bq's with large slices of watermelon
Snuggling with Troy
Family projects
Camping & Hiking
Taking pictures
Studying & Learning a new subject or skill
Ice cream and Popsicles
Walks/Bike rides with my kids
Cook outs
Early morning breakfasts
Visiting family & friends
Pedicures
Exercise
Sunshine
& Getting to the "To Do List" that never gets done!

Speaking of  lists. I love lists! lists consume my life and without them I would be lost. I have burned up many many braincells trying to keep up with every ones needs and all my different jobs that now I am utterly and completely dependent on lists! (I used to pride myself in the fact that I could remember everything but that was in my past younger much less complicated life) I feel great pleasure when I check things off my list and enjoy adding new ideas to the list. I have daily to do lists, short term lists, long term lists, shopping lists, wish lists, need to find lists, reminder lists, to call lists, want to do lists(for fear that if I don't write it down I'll forget I have "wants"and will never do them) and if I was smart I would make a list of everything I do that's not on a list just so I could relish in the great magnitude of it.
My sister Natalie equally loves lists and we think maybe we got this quirky love through the gene pool somehow. Anyhow, I lost my list!well left it actually.
Tell me you have all done this! Stepped into the very store you were going to "conquer" the list in and stood there completely dumbfounded. Not sure where or what to begin with so you reach for your list and its not there! At this point I decided to venture forward without it. 2 hours and a huge headache later I finished with a heavily loaded cart and 4 hungry now impatient kids(can you blame them). I was so frustrated! What a waste of a morning, When I finally got home to my list I discovered....you guessed it the things in my bags did not match up with the things on my list! Why do I do these things.
The day was not a complete failure....I made a new list.
Don't judge me ...just laugh it's why I share.

  1. Oh yeah, I have definitely forgotten the shopping list... or, on one occasion... Elena ate it. And then I end up buying way too much and still manage to get nothing I needed.

Also, I responded to your post about decorating on my blog. Thank you so much for your help. Could I maybe get your email in case I have future questions or decorating emergencies?
