Natalie & I back at the ranch!
Ever since I can remember round up at the ranch was an event to look forward too. I would stand and watch through the slats as my family would do the branding ritual.
If I was really lucky I would get to help.
I didn't grow up right in the thick of it so when we got to be there it was a real treat!
Playing cowgirl is so much fun its always a little risky which makes it even better.
SO this year for Mother's day Our husbands let us go on a girls trip to the
Ashfork Ranch for ROUND UP.
We took the 3 oldest girls with us
Lacey, Baylee & Kami
We stayed for the whole process and enjoyed the Ranch feast after...Thanks Gigi.
It was just Bert & Garna's Family and us....but wow what a big group....at least 50.
branding, riding, visiting, laughing, by the end of the day we smelled awful.
It was a great !
Uncle Bert says it's time to start training up the younger generation.

Nattie got to throw a calf...she was awesome. I missed the throw down shot...dangit!
I got to throw a calf...its not about strength its about technique I am told by Clay Dawg.
He told me what to do and I DID IT!
Ronda taught me how to give shots so I did mostly just that.
Youch! don't miss I thought.

We couldn't help but miss you Dad and we tried to teach the girls just the way you taught us...even down to getting the gate. Love you Dad, thanks for all the experiences you've given us.
We still think your the best cowboy we know.
