The Polar Express-the ultimate train ride!

Years ago I took Rustin & Lacey on the POLAR EXPRESS. This Year I took Troy, Kasen, Jaxon & Canyon. We had a great time. Jaxon Is really into trains right now and Kasen is at the perfect age to enjoy the magic of Christmas.
We Left for the North Pole that afternoon, stopped in flagstaff for a few errands, had dinner, Got on the train at 6:30 and were back home in bed by 10:30......WOW! what a ride.

All the first time train riders.

The station master announced the arrival of the Polar Express and we all ran over to watch it coming down the tracks. The anticipation was a thrill.
(As you can see on these boys faces)

WE followed the long row of cars till we found ours.

Then we waited to board and so to not be bored we took pictures by the lights.

and climbed on whatever was around.

and tried to stay warm

Finally the moment arrived and the boys were greeted by very friendly helpers who punched their tickets and welcomed them aboard!

Hooray!

We all piled in. Our seats faced each other so Canyon enjoyed jumping from lap to lap.
Natalie and Dave and Chelsey and the little girls rode in the seats behind us.
It was fun to meet up with them and experience it all together.

We had a great ride to the North Pole. We ate chocolate chip cookies and drank hot cocoa and even got a special gift from Santa himself!(a magical reindeer bell that only those who believe in Santa can hear) On the way home we sang carols and listened to a story.
One of the biggest highlights was when the boys and got to use the train bathroom....talk about tiny...but we all crammed in the boys were thrilled to use a miniature toilet and sink on a moving train!
It was quite hilarious, the things they get excited about. Never a dull moment with these two.
They talked about the train all week and I must have the read the Polar Express book at least 3 times the next day for them. Luckily, their show and tell day was that week also and they re-lived the whole adventure again with a few extra embellishments while telling it to their class.
