Our niece Jessica got married on August 17 so we did something a little crazy...
We pulled all of our kids out of school for 8 days after only 3 days of school.
(Yes we realized we would pay for this with major make up work later)
We packed snacks, water, backpacks, books and movies and hit the road.
It was so enjoyable to just see the landscape change around us as we drove.
Our first stop was Lake Powell:Carl Hayden Visitor center...
we looked around and bought a book about all the plants and animals of AZ that kept everyone happy the rest of the way.
We arrived in Riverton late that night. Joy and Darren had everything ready for us to climb right into bed it was so nice. The next few days were full of wedding preparations. The kids had a great time with there cousins and We were lucky enough to get the job of going to get candy at "taffy town"it was so cool and we bought way too much.
After planning,shopping, and decorating the day arrived and Jessica was happily wed in the
Jordan River Temple. Here is the couple cutting cake.
The next day was full of clean up and a family dinner out to Olive Garden so good in many ways.
Sunday we packed up and moved onto Bountiful where we stayed with more family...the Bennett's
After church we went to temple square and spent the afternoon in the visitor center and conference center. There was so much to see we went back the next day for more.
I had to catch there faces looking up at the Christis.
The next day we visited uncle Curtis at OC Tanner where Lacey was gifted her first set of pearls. We took Sydney with us everywhere for the next few days. We were so glad she got to come along.
One of my favorite places ever is the Church art museum. I could spend all day there but we took and hour or so and enjoyed the Art and the new children's Book or Mormon section.
It was amazing and so so fun!

Canyon and Jaxon wanted to learn how too.
First we built a temple fort then the boys made a see saw. Rustin liked the tortilla toss...which he attempted from across the room.
Afterward Troy treated us to Lunch at the BLUE LEMON so yummy healthy delicious fresh food!
Worth every dollar....Troy wasn't so sure about the dollar part.
